Ringing the Bell at NYSE: More Than Just a Personal and Professional Milestone

Written by Emnet Rios | Mar 7, 2025 6:50:46 PM

Standing at the podium of the New York Stock Exchange, ringing the iconic bell as a member of the Women in Global Leadership community, was a moment of immense pride. It wasn’t just about the ceremony—it was about what it symbolized: the continued growing presence and impact of women in capital markets and technology.

Leading in Capital Markets and Tech

Being a leader in the capital markets and technology industry is both exhilarating and demanding. The rapid pace of innovation, evolving regulations, and shifting market dynamics require constant adaptation. Technology is reshaping how markets function, from AI-driven analytics to blockchain applications in trading and settlement. As a CFO, I see firsthand how these advancements create opportunities for efficiency, transparency, and inclusivity. But with these advancements comes the responsibility to guide organizations through transformation while striking a balance between strategic foresight and financial integrity.

Women Changing the Future of Capital Markets

I am fortunate to work alongside many incredible women who are redefining the future of capital markets. These women are leading fintech startups, driving policy changes, and innovating within major financial institutions. They are building platforms that democratize access to investing, advocating for regulatory reforms that enhance market stability, and mentoring the next generation of leaders. Their collective impact is not only fostering a more equitable industry, but also ensuring that capital markets evolve to meet the needs of a broader and more diverse investor base.

Leadership: A Responsibility and an Opportunity

To me, leadership is about more than just making strategic decisions—it’s about fostering an environment where others can thrive. At Digital Asset, I strive to lead with transparency, empathy, and a vision for long-term success. This means creating opportunities for different perspectives to be heard, championing inclusive business practices, and mentoring emerging female leaders. I believe leadership is about opening doors for others, ensuring that the progress we make today paves the way for future generations of women in finance and technology.

What’s Next?

I’m most excited about the continued evolution of technology in capital markets and how we can harness innovation to drive meaningful change. I am also eager to see more women stepping into leadership roles, reshaping the industry with fresh perspectives and bold ideas.

Ringing the bell at NYSE was a personal milestone, but it was also a reminder that there is still work to be done. The future of capital markets is being built today, and I’m so honored to be part of the movement driving it forward.
